ShopHelper ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a woodworking utility application designed for hobbyist and professional woodworkers. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information when you use our services available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

By downloading or using ShopHelper, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

ShopHelper is designed with a privacy-first approach. We minimize data collection to only what is necessary for the App to function.

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All user-created content is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This includes but is not limited to:

Board footage calculations and lumber tallies
Moisture readings and project logs
Shopping lists (lumber, sheets, hardware)
Timer data and session logs
Journal entries, photos, and sketch annotations
Cut list configurations and part data
Calculator history

This data never leaves your device. We do not have access to it, cannot view it, and do not transmit it to any server.

2.2 Data Accessed with Your Permission

The App may request access to certain device features. These permissions are only requested when you initiate the corresponding feature, and you may deny or revoke them at any time through your device settings.

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Weather Data

When you use the weather feature in the Moisture Logger, the App sends a request to wttr.in (a third-party weather service) using your approximate location to retrieve temperature and relative humidity data. This request is only made when you explicitly initiate it. We encourage you to review the wttr.in privacy practices at github.com/chubin/wttr.in.

3.2 Advertising

ShopHelper uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain data as described in Google's privacy policy, including:

Device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID)
IP address
General usage data related to ad interactions

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization

3.3 App Store Platforms

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all user data is stored locally on your device:

Retention: Your data persists on your device as long as the App is installed.
Deletion: You can delete any data within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all locally stored data.
No backups: We do not create server-side backups of your data. If you uninstall the App or switch devices, your data cannot be recovered by us.

5. Children's Privacy

ShopHelper is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Data Security

Because your data is stored locally on your device, its security is protected by your device's own security measures (passcode, biometric lock, encryption). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a secure lock screen.

The App does not transmit your project data, journal entries, photos, or calculations over the internet.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: All your data is already accessible to you within the App.
Deletion: You can delete your data at any time within the App or by uninstalling it.
Opt-out of tracking: You can disable personalized ads and revoke permissions through your device settings.
Data portability: You can export cut lists as PDF documents from within the App.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
